Christmas at Kaka‘ako? Sure, why not! Thanks to the Surfrider O‘ahu Xmas in July Auction & Event, we got to experience a bit of yuletide-inspired festivities at SALT, not to mention a chance to bid on a slew of auction items ranging from GoPros to gift cards.
With all proceeds going to support the Foundation’s work to protect our beaches and oceans, the crowd had no qualms bidding on items as they got a firsthand look at the auction selection that day. Bidding started online Saturday morning and ended Sunday evening.
But aside from perusing all the goods, the live event was also filled with great food and drinks courtesy of Arvo Cafe, Kona Brewing Co. beers & SKY Kombucha while DJ @ashloho treated eventgoers to some serious beats. Naturally, we wanted to get in on the giving action as well, so Team Mauna Loa broke out the ice cream cups and scoopers so guests could sample our delicious dairy-free delights!
With our newest flavor, Strawberry Guava, the nice cream was a huge hit! Truth be told, we couldn’t think of a better way to keep everyone’s cool that day. And just because the auction is over, doesn’t mean you can’t still contribute to support the Foundation’s ocean-cleanup efforts. Just click here for more information on how to help!
