At Hawaiian Host Group, the Ho‘okipa Award honors team members who bring the spirit of Hawai‘i to life by exemplifying what it means to be true Hosts of Hawai‘i. Ho‘okipa, meaning “hospitality,” represents the generous act of creating a welcoming and caring experience for others. Each quarter, we celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to support our mission, uplift our team, and strengthen our community. While many are nominated, only a select few earn the prestigious HHG Ho‘okipa Award.
We are excited to celebrate Daniel Verduzco, Sales Operations Manager, as our Ho‘okipa Award winner for Q3 2024! While Daniel has long been an outstanding team member, his dedication to help prepare for the Sales & Marketing All Hands this past quarter was truly commendable. Daniel compiled a wide range of data sets that helped our sales team make more strategic and data-driven decisions. This task took weeks of focused effort, with late nights and weekends included. Though supported by others, Daniel’s ownership of this effort was exceptional.
During his 10 years with HHG, Daniel has become an invaluable part of our team, consistently prioritizing the needs of others and being a steadfast, kind, thoughtful, and supportive presence in our Los Angeles office.
When asked if he had any advice for others striving to exceed expectations, Daniel shared, “I focus on making sure that the people who matter most know I have their back—we go through tough times and celebrate our collective successes together.” He continued, “When you’re part of something bigger than yourself, you start to see things in a different way.” Daniel expressed his appreciation for winning the Ho‘okipa Award and being recognized by his peers, though he joked, “the bronze statue they put up in the LA office is a bit excessive, but what can you do?”
